Flip-Over Gooseneck Ball Hitch

A gooseneck hitch uses a hitch ball to connect to a gooseneck trailer. As a truck bed hitch, its main body usually mounts beneath the truck bed and is bolted to the frame of the truck using brackets. Gooseneck trailer hitches have a typical pull rating of up to 30,000 lbs. or greater. This high pull rating makes them very useful for towing flatbed equipment haulers, horse trailers, and livestock trailers.

Flip-Over Ball Hitch Operation

Through the use of a spring-loaded stainless steel pin, the Flip-Over Ball is securely locked into the single-piece ball socket. The process of inverting the ball is accomplished by rotating the actuating rod by 90 degrees. You will find the actuating rod in the wheel well on the driver’s side. When this is done, the retaining pin is kept in the open position. Then, invert the ball and rotate the actuating rod, returning it to its initial locked position. The ball for models 317 and 318 may be flipped over or removed, but the handle will only lock with the ball in the usable position. It will not latch and lock in the down position.

Advantages of Gooseneck Trailer Hitches

The benefits provided by gooseneck trailer hitches when compared to fifth wheel hitches are as follows. They are considerably less bulky and invasive in the truck bed. These trailer hitches only consist of safety chain anchors and a gooseneck ball above the truck bed. The FlipOver ball is also light in weight and easy to operate. A gooseneck hitch has an uncomplicated, simple coupling mechanism, providing a robust connection for heavy-duty flatbeds, farm trailers, and more.

What our customers are saying

  • “This is a 2019 Ford F-150 with 5’5” bed. I was worried about finding a product to get the clearance I needed to pull my horse trailer . My trailer is almost 79 inches wide . Installed the SB116 16” inch extension coupler on my trailer and I’ve pulled it several trips now and it works great. My trailer pulls great due to load is on the truck where it needs to be. Very well made and love the fact I don’t have to get up in the back of truck or reach over the bedside to hook up and unhook.  The folks at PopUp Towing were great to deal with and answered all my questions.”- Mark G.
  • “We installed a CAG (Connect-Adapt-Go) from PopUp Towing on a truck recently.  It went in very easily.  Instructions were very clear and we are very pleased in the outcome.  We will definitely do more business with PopUp Towing.”- Rick & Jean Horsch
  • “We purchased a CC2 Cushion Coupler by PopUp Towing. I’ll tell you what, after arriving home from the last horse show, we were amazed to find two cans of pop that were left on the dinette table still on the table. Now that’s a smooth ride!”- Larry P.
  • “I was having trouble explaining my issue and determining a solution to my turning issue when towing my gooseneck trailer. A friend of mine said, you should try to call the guys at PopUp Towing as they helped solve his issues. Let me tell you, I spoke with two gentlemen at PopUp if I remember correctly their names were Derrick and Chance, those to guys seem to have more knowledgeable information than anyone I’ve spoken with in this industry. Years of valuable knowledge, and highly recommended if you have similar issues. Thanks again and I absolutely love the new RVGC complete pinbox replacement to allow me to tow my 5th wheel without the bulky 5th wheel hitch taking up my bed space.”- Bill F.
