Designed for Heavy-Duty Towing Applications
The ET-S4-250 is built on a 32-inch by 34¼-inch footprint and features a ½-inch-thick mounting plate paired with four 2,500-pound-capacity air bags as part of its air ride system. It is rated to handle trailers with a gross trailer weight rating (GTWR) of up to 40,000 pounds and is intended for pin weights within the optimal range of 4,000 to 6,000 pounds.
These specifications make it suitable for towing larger trailers with medium- and heavy-duty trucks. We designed this hitch to mount between the truck frame rails using a pre-configured mounting method, providing an installation approach that aligns with its intended vehicle classes.
Air Ride System with Controlled Suspension Travel
An important feature of the ET Senior is its air bag suspension system, which provides a total of five inches of travel. This movement consists of three inches downward and two inches upward, allowing the hitch to respond to changes encountered during towing. The air ride design works alongside the hitch’s overall construction to provide controlled vertical movement while travelling.
Our hitch also incorporates a parallelogram design that transfers horizontal chucking forces to the air spring system. This engineering approach is integrated into the hitch’s suspension design and helps manage horizontal movement using the air spring system.
Built with Durable Components
We equipped the ET-S4-250 with a fully articulating head that allows the hitch to accommodate changes in trailer position during operation. Hardened steel wrap-around jaws provide secure engagement with the trailer kingpin. Space-age greaseless bearings support hitch movement without requiring lubrication at the bearing surfaces.
A durable powder coat finish helps protect the hitch’s exterior surfaces, and every ET Senior ships 100% complete, allowing customers to receive the components included with the product as supplied by the manufacturer.

Although the optimum range of operation is at 40% to 60% (40 to 60 psi) the head leveling valve will keep the coupler head at the right height with a lighter or heavier tongue weight.
Designed with anti-chucking mechanism. Chucking is that nagging pulling back and forth between truck and trailer. The geometric design, a parallelogram “dog bones” in the ET hitch vertically suspends 100% of the pin weight on the air bags and when the chucking force comes forward it redirects the force downwards into the same airbag(s).
